Her practice integrates evidence-based psychiatric care with a strong focus on collaborative, individualistic, and neurodiversity-affirming approaches. With clinical experience across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency psychiatric settings, she has worked with a wide range of populations.
Dr Celeste Harlies is particularly passionate about:

• Occupational Mental Health
Her therapeutic philosophy centres on compassion, empathy, and individualised care – recognising each individual’s strengths and uniqueness. She values collaborative, holistic care and advocates for accessible, preventative mental healthcare, including the use of digital psychiatry to broaden access to mental healthcare and inclusivity for all.
Dr Celeste Harlies has comprehensive training through the University of the Witwatersrand, holding a:
• Master of Medicine in Psychiatry MMed (Psych)(Wits)
• Fellowship of the College of Psychiatrists of South Africa FC Psych (SA)
• A Diploma in Mental Health DMH (SA)
• Undergraduate medical degree MBBCh (Wits)
Her specialist skills include an in depth knowledge of psychopharmacology, consultation-liaison psychiatry, multidisciplinary team leadership and psychotherapy. She has further training in the General Psychiatric Management of Borderline Personality Disorder, College Mental Health and maintains an interest in and integrative therapeutic approaches. She has experience across multiple clinical settings
